The bathroom can be a revelatory place for people like me: those that  embrace the time they get all for themselves. After completing my morning routine,, which predominantly revolves around readying my skin for the day ahead, I come alive. For some, maintaining a skincare regimen may seem like a hassle with unknown benefits.  However, you may find that taking five minutes out of your day to focus on yourself and your body can be extraordinarily powerful. Not only may you see noticeable results  from your skincare regimen, but you may also feel the  greater benefits of a routine act of self-care.The good news is that these benefits are unlimited, but  unfortunately,  so are the options for skincare products on the market!

What should I look for when developing a skincare regimen?

We all want healthy skin - but what does that really mean? This is a difficult question because we all have  varied lifestyles and priorities when it comes to our bodies. The first step in developing a skincare regimen is understanding what your unique priorities are. Personally, I want zero-to-low-waste products with ingredients that harness the natural powers of botanicals. My skincare focus is reducing clogged pores and maintaining hydration. Not everybody has the same skincare goals, so I do implore you to do a bit of research to discover what you want from your skincare regimen.

There are a seemingly  infinite amount of options when it comes to developing your own personalized skincare routine. For years I felt overwhelmed by the thousands of cleansers on the market, fearful I would make the wrong buying decision. Now, because I know what I want, I am able to choose more wisely and efficiently by narrowing down options that fit my needs. I choose to simplify wherever possible and therefore  stick to a 3 to 4 step regimen. While this works for me,  I encourage you to do whatever you must  to feel good-  no shame for the nine-steppers out there! One major thing we all should consider when developing our skincare regimens is   ingredients. Thankfully, AllPeople’s entire product selection is already vetted to be safe and healthy, not only for your skin, but for everybody’s!

Whether you have dry, oily, or combination skin, your skincare regimen can usually be reduced to a few simple steps: cleanse, tone, and moisturize.
